Jon Wood serves as Vice President for Student Life and Christian Ministries at Cedarville University. In this role, he provides leadership for the student development, outreach ministries, and student services of the University. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Theological Studies. Jon's passion is to know, love, and glorify God and make multiplying disciples to reach the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He desires to fulfill the Great Commission by equipping university students to make disciples for the rest of their lives. Jon is married to Ellen and they have four children and a golden retriever. They live in Cedarville, OH, and enjoy family time while hiking, playing games, and hammocking. Jon enjoys partnering with Lake Ann Camp's ministry by encouraging Cedarville University students to serve as camp counselors and by speaking to Juniors to help the kids understand from an early age the great God who loves them so deeply.
Scott Owen grew up in home that did not know Christ, but was invited to church and to a Bible camp by classmates where he accepted Christ at age 13. He and his wife Marti served in churches as pastor and wife for 35 years and recently joined Baptist Church Planters as missionaries to churches. The Owens have four adult children, each worked several years in the same Bible camp in Iowa where Scott was saved. Scott has spoken at youth camps in Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin and looks forward to ministering at Lake Ann!
I am married and have 3 kids. I live in Central Iowa and am the Discipleship Pastor at First Family Church. I was a youth pastor for 15 years and Lake Ann played a big part in the spiritual growth of the students in my youth ministries. Students always have a profound encounter with God when they attend Lake Ann and for that I am forever grateful. I can’t wait to spend another week at Lake Ann!
My name is Sam Burns and my wife and I currently call Holland, Michigan our home. We have a baby boy named Solomon that has brought a whole new level of excitement into our lives. For my work, I am employed at Holland Rescue Mission and oversee the Transitional Development Program that we run. The program focuses on helping adult men and women experience life transformation through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. We also are in leadership at our church, Summit Church, where we lead and direct the middle school ministry there. We have attended Winter Freezeout the past three years with our youth group students and have come to admire Lake Ann Camp and all that it is. Having spent considerable at time at camps throughout my high school and college years, I know the powerful experience a week at camp can be for campers - it is simply because an adult took the time to share the Gospel with me while I was in high school, I entered into a relationship with Jesus and my life has never looked the same. I am so excited to get to spend a week with campers at Lake Ann and to have the privilege of sharing about the greatest love story in all of history - that Jesus died for our sins! We look forward to seeing you in August!
