Frequently Asked Questions
Summer Camp - General
Arrival for campers is on Monday from 10 am – 12pm, and pick up time on Saturday is from 9 – 10 am for all programs.
As soon as possible! We do not have deadlines, however, registrations are done on a first-come, first-served basis and our weeks fill up quickly. Call the office at 231-275-7329 to find out if there is a waitlist for the week you want your camper to attend.
The registration fee includes housing, meals, and all program-specific activities. Campers are responsible for any snacks and souvenirs from the Red Canoe or purchasing crafts from our Craft Station.
In order to receive a full refund for your cancellation, we require a 7 day notice. If the office receives notice less than 7 days, a deposit of $125.00 is kept.
Yes! Please call our office at 231-275-7329 to arrange a tour during our office hours, Monday through Friday, 8a-5p. There is also an opportunity to tour camp (free lunch provided) when you drop your campers off on Monday morning.
Our counselor interview process is very extensive, requiring multiple references, a detailed application, criminal background and driving record check. Once offered a position, counselors arrive 2 weeks before camp begins and receive 150+ hours of classroom and hands-on training. Training and follow-up continues throughout the summer with daily staff meetings.
